Masters of The Universe! (MOTU) Pittsburgh’s premier ska/rock band mixes aspects of ska, rock, punk and jazz into a completely original aural experience the likes of which has never been heard before. Established in 2005 MOTU has been steadily carving out a name for themselves in the punk and ska community, playing hundreds of shows within Pittsburgh and the mid-west region. MOTU has shared the stage with bands such as, The Toasters, The Slackers, Mustard Plug, Weatus, and Hinder, and has self released one full length album entitled “At Least We Tried” in 2007 and “The Ultimate Collection” that included a re-release of “At Least We Tried” with bonus live recordings collected through out the years in 2009.
In 2012 after some line-up changes, MOTU signed on with Pittsburgh label The Atomic Family Records, ran a successful crowdfunding campaign through Kickstarter.com, and began working on their second full length entitled “In A Galaxie Far Far Away” which is set for release on august 31st 2013!
2013 promises to be a big year for Masters of The Universe! and the band has no intentions of slowing down.
